Great place to fly out of! The owner is an A&P IA mechanic so any problems with the planes gets immediate service. The process to start flying is quick and easy. Lots of great instructors and lots of choices on what plane to fly in! Definitely recommend.

Phenomenal place! Truly the largest Cessna fleet in LA and all the airplanes maintained amazingly well. American Aviation has been in operation since 1989. The company started as a maintenance facility which eventually expanded into aircraft interior and flight training. We entered aviation not for the business opportunity it offered but out of deep love for flying and flying machines. All the airplanes in the school are our own private airplanes, the airplanes we fly, so you can rest assure they are kept with the highest standards and care. The maintenance is performed in house, minimizing down time. Van Nuys airport is one of the 10 busiest general aviation airports in the world in close proximity to international and commercial airports. As a result our students are exposed to complex procedures and airspace. By the end of their training, having been operating in such a busy and sophisticated environment, our students are more than capable to operate in any environment in the world.

One of the cheapest flight schools in the valley. Great maintenance of planes and friendly staff. Planes are almost always available at a moments notice. Insurance options are non-mandatory, but affordable. Great place to learn to fly!
