CFI checkride fees reflect the additional complexity of evaluating teaching ability, not just flying skill. Paid directly to the DPE.

Independent Checkride Planning

The CFI checkride requires a specialized DPE who evaluates both flying and teaching ability. We coordinate examiner planning early as readiness approaches.

Checkride Timing Target

Independent DPEs

weather and eligibility also apply

American Aviation coordinates examiner planning early in the process and targets a checkride after proficiency, required endorsements, independent examiner availability and aircraft readiness are confirmed, provided that independent DPE schedules, weather conditions, and personal eligibility permit. Please note that this timing is intended as a helpful planning target rather than a guarantee, as the school does not exert control over individual DPE calendars or final examination outcomes.
